Christmas is coming!

So... we've had a busy week.  Last weekend, we went shopping on "Black Friday" at Bloomies & American Girl on Michigan Avenue... it was a lot of fun!  Sunday was the day we met Bearamy, the Build a Bear mascot; he was at Williams Sonoma to help with the Build-a-Bear cake pan Momma wanted to get for my birthday.  He was SO cool & SO soft!  Momma bought the pan & is going to start practicing with the bear so it'll be perfect for my birthday!  We got the Santa one to make for Christmas day to bring to the Adams house!

On our Sunday outing, Emma wore her little pink knit hat that Cousin Jackie knit for her- it is so cute and so soft!

Since we needed a little thicker hat this week for the cold, Momma pulled out her cute pink hat with fur & matching gloves to help keep warm!

Finally, Momma took pictures of me in one of my Christmas outfits (more to come...) and then my jean dress that I wore when Daddy came over to visit yesterday.

Well all, while Emma tries to snooze, Momma is going to get ready to go to Jewel.  Take care all!

Emma's First Thanksgiving!

So Emma has celebrated her first Thanksgiving & what a day it was!

We had a lot of fun... what a lovely day!  Gramma made the turkey, dressing, green beans & salad... Momma made the potatoes, pumpkin pie & apple pie from scratch & Uncle Michael made cornbread and cranberries!  Momma's potatoes came out really good considering they were her first ever!

We played the Game of Life and discovered Chloe has a crush on Uncle Michael... she wouldn't leave him alone!  It was funny!  Even funnier was Aunt Jenni getting mad even though she had the highest paying job & ended up winning... and Uncle Michael kept losing his job... everyone sued Aunt Jenni which made her madder... and we discovered the new Game of Life is so much more complicated than the old one!
Momma almost gave up on her apple pie when the dough wasn't cooperating, but Gramma stepped in and helped and even though Aunt Jenni kept making fun, the apple  pie came out deliciously!  Momma is going to try more pies for Christmas!  The pumpkin was good too, even though it was a premade crust... next time, Momma says she's going to make her own crust for the pumpkin.

Overall, our Thanksgiving was a success and the food was delish!  We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!  We're going to get our Christmas pictures taken today so watch for them soon!

Love you all!  We're going back to our "slug day" before pic time... Side note to Auntie Gretch- sorry we won't make it over to your house... we haven't had slug day in a long time!  We'll come see you soon, though, and hope there is lots of fun happening at the Dust home today!

Emma's outings

So Emma has been a busy bee!

We went downtown last weekend for the lighting ceremony &  parade... Emma slept through it, though.  The bottom picture is her first bus ride with Momma (she has already ridden the bus with Gramma once before).  She LOVED the bus!  While we were down there, we went to visit Aunt Jenni at work.  She was happy to see us & gave us a ride home!

Yesterday, we went shopping on  Michigan Avenue for "Black Friday" shopping.  There were lots of people down there and Emma, once again, slept through it all.  The top two pics are of us in front of the tree at the Hancock Building and us on the bus ride home.

Might Emma be getting something from American Girl??? We'll have to wait until Christmas to find out!  But she's becoming quite the little shopper!

Close encounters of the celebrity kind!

Hey Everyone!

So Emma is totally loving her bed!  The bottom picture is her in her bed- she loves to talk to her "friends" as I call them... the little animals in her mobile!

So last Sunday, when we were at Bloomies for our cooking class at Williams & Sonoma, guess who we saw?  I COULD NOT believe it... BILL MURRAY!  Yes, Emma almost came face to face with one of mommy's long time crushes (it's true- I've loved Bill Murray since I was a little girl & saw him in Ghostbusters, my favorite movie ever!).  He walked by us  as we waited for my fave hot chocolate place to open... he was going to go work out.  Uncle Michael and I wanted to go stalk him in the gym, but Gramma and Emma talked us out of it.  It was so cool though... it stirred up my crush all over again! I just adore him!

So yes, we are taking cooking "classes" at Williams & Sonoma.  We've gone to stuffing, sides & this week is pies since I am going to attempt to cook a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving.  Emma is not scared since she won't have to eat it. ha!

The pics... the top one is her from earlier tonight- she had on her cute flower puff-sleeve top.  I kept trying to get her when she had her big smile, but I kept missing it.  Under that is her with Great Grandma Betty, who came to visit on Thursday... Mommy missed the visit because she was at work, but I heard it was a nice visit!  Under that is Uncle Michael and Emma by Bloomies (we were sitting at my hot chocolate stand at the time) and the one under that is by the huge Christmas tree- Emma loved it, especially the lights!  Then there is her in her bed... enjoying her "friends" who swing in the mobile.  Her other little musical thing on the side is her other fave- she just really discovered it the other night when she woke up at night & I turned it on in the dark- she loved it!

Well, we hope you all are having a great time!  In case we don't get a new update before... happy Thanksgiving all! We'll let you know how the pie turns out!

Oh, and still looking for a sitter... I'm on a few sitter cites- anyone have any comments on sitter sites?  Good, bad, ugly- I don't care.  Just wondering... thank you Nena for giving them to me- they're a big help!

Well, I'm going to bed because I can barely keep my eyes open.  Have a good one, all!

a busy week!

So we survived our first week away from each other... yes, mommy had to go back to work.  :( But Emma had lots of fun with Aunt Jenni & Gramma!  Since I've lost my Tuesday & Friday sitter,
I thank everyone who has offered to watch her or help me look for help. We really appreciate it!

So, Emma was 2 months old on Thursday, got 4 shots & came to visit mommy at work!  It was so fun!!!  We also found out that she weighs 11 lbs. - way to grow Em!!

Last Saturday, Chief G & Uncle Ian helped us get the crib from Auntie Beth & Cousin Nikki - Emma LOVES it!  I'm going to try to take pics of her in it this weekend & post them soon!

We hope you all are doing well & like our pics from this week!  There's me all bundled to take Chlo-bug on a walk; me snoozin' with Uncle Ian & Chloe; me and Chloe trying to tell mom it's okay to go to work on Day 1; me and mom on our Wednesday of fun! and finally, me and mom outside her office when I visited her.

We hope you all have a great weekend!

Emma voted today!

Hey all... guess who voted with her mommy today?  That's right - and she hopes you did too!  She even got a sticker!

We're watching election coverage & looking for Uncle Mike in the crowd... yes, he's at Grant Park and even got to shake Obama's hand today!

Happy voting day all!

Little Moo!

So here she is... so cute in her costume!  As you can see- she's not too happy about Tummy Time sometimes...

Anywho... She had SO MUCH FUN trick-or-treating... and no, I'm not crazy- she did NOT collect candy- she just went for the experience.  A special thank you to Summer for Emma's very first home-made card- it is so precious and she LOVES it!

We made it to daddy's house last night, but not early enough to watch the Halloween fun there... but they did have some very cool decorations!  What else can I say... Emma's first Halloween was a smashing success!

Oh, and I'm so excited- we have 4 followers!!! Woohoo to you guys!

Emma's first Halloween

So let me just say that the week got away from me before I knew what happened...

After my check up on Monday, we had a lovely visit with Great- Grandpa & Grandma Adams that night.

Tuesday flew by before I knew it and on Wednesday we went to Emma's check-up... guess who weighs 9 lbs. 12 oz.! Way to grow, Em!  Her doctor is really excited.  She's starting to talk more now... so exciting when she coos & she's doing more "tummy time" too.

Thursday was a long day for me - I had to get my eyes poked & prodded again- still no change and still no clue as to where the dots came from... (sigh)... I have to go back again December 30.
I'm going to post another blog with pics of her in her costume right now- so cute!    Well, I'm going to post the costume pics next... take care all!

Itsy Bitsy Spider

So here is Emma with Halloween outfit #1... the adorable Itsy-Bitsy-Spider shirt and her super cute Jack-o-lantern socks.  I plan to put up pictures of her every day in her Halloween outfits since she has a few of them... :)  And of course, stay tuned for her in her cow costume again on Halloween!  She is going to go trick-or-treating with Chloe the White Sox pug & her cousins, Taylor, Summer, Melanie and Noah. :)

We hope you all are doing well!

Happy Halloween Week!

We're watching The Glass-Bottom Boat

So yes, we really are watching the Glass Bottom Boat.  I'm taking a break from daycare calling.

Here are some recent pics... the top one is her cute hoodie outfit from Aunt Jenni.  The second one- I know it's dark, but I love her face in it- she looks so happy!  The third one is her and Chloe chillin' on the Boppy pillow.  The last one is her in her swing, which is what she's in right now.  It would be nice if she had her big swing here to she didn't roll to the side while she sits... but that's okay.

We hope you all are doing well... we're feeling better today.  Wish us luck that one of these daycare places will have an opening and let us in... so far, it's waiting lists, waiting lists, waiting lists...

Have a great day!  hugs... heather and emma

We've both had colds... :(

Hey all,

Sorry I haven't updated this in a while but we've both been sick... she caught my cold :( and I haven't been able to get rid of mine yet.

I haven't uploaded my new pics to the computer yet, so I've put some of the ones from not too long ago of her.  The first one is from last week- she's so cute and pretty in purple.  The middle one is her in her take-along swing, which she still doesn't fit into yet and the last one is her in her stroller, which she still doesn't quite fit into yet either.

We hope you're doing well, all the followers of Emma's blog.

Wish us luck in finding day care! :)

hugs... heather and Emma

Little Moo's Halloween Costume from Aunt Julie in California!

So I had to post these... We got THE CUTEST gift in the mail today... Emma's very own first costume from Great Aunt Julie in California.  She sent one of her signature home-made cards with a story for Emma (which I read to her- it's so cute!) and a cow costume for Emma.

Some background on the whole "Moo" thing... when I was a little girl, I added "moo" at the end of everyone's names so my Aunt Julie started calling me "Moo"... my dad still calls me "Heath-Moo" to this day.  So now Emma is my little "Moo" and as a cute costume to show it - notice in the first picture the pink heart sewed to the costume with the words "Little Moo" on it.

So... as soon as we (Emma, Gramma, Chloe and I) opened her costume, we had to put it on her for pictures for Aunt Julie and I, of course, had to share it on the blog with you all.  Also included are pics of Chloe in her White Sox Halloween costume.

Oh, and Aunt Julie, as you can see- she has grown and does fit quite well into it.  I know you were worried about the fit.  I can't tell you how sweet that was of you to send... it is so precious and so special... I'll send some more to you on Halloween when she wears it to trick or treat with Chloe the Pug as Chloe Jenks hahaha... :)

Have a great day all!
